One of the principal tenets of eWomenNetwork, and its Foundation, is to “Lift as we Climb” – meaning, to provide opportunity to those who need it most as we continue to pursue our own dreams. Imagine what it can mean to a young woman to have those who have gone before her reach out and say “welcome, we want to do what we can to help you along your way.” This, in effect, is what the Emerging Leader program is all about.
The eWomen Foundation Emerging Leader Program reaches out to young women between the ages of 22-29 who are already demonstrating excellence in the areas of academics, entrepreneurship and philanthropy. Our aim is to seek out the “bright and the bright eyed” and recognize them for their accomplishments and commitment, particularly as it relates to an ethic of integrating giving back into their professional pursuits.
Each year, we solicit nominations for an Emerging Leader of the Year Award, and our Finalists participate in a program designed especially for them during the annual eWomenNetwork International Conference and Business Expo. The Foundation sponsors the attendance and participation of the lucky young ladies who are selected as Finalists by flying them to Dallas, providing their lodging and meals, and hosting them at private receptions and workshops just for them.
Experiencing the power of the eWomenNetwork and all it has to offer is just the beginning! These young women are given a complimentary one-year membership in eWomenNetwork and hence, this web of support and resources remains available to them throughout the year following their Finalist status.
